On Friday, April 4, 2025, the 27th edition of the IMPLANTOLOGY conference took place at the modern STAGES HOTEL Prague. This long-standing event brings together implantology specialists, dentists of all disciplines, dental technicians, and dental students from both the Czech Republic and abroad every year.
This year’s conference featured a wide range of topics, from advanced surgical techniques and the use of digital technologies to long-term implant maintenance. All the speakers talked about their own experiences in these areas.
MUDr. Dana Kopecká did a great job as host, making sure everything ran smoothly. The conference offered not only high-quality educational content but also provided a space for sharing experiences and building new connections in a friendly and open atmosphere.
MUDr. et MUDr. Jiří Holakovský spoke about less common but often important problems in implantology that can affect a patient’s overall health. He used many examples to show how important it is to try and stop these problems before they happen, how important it is to work together with other doctors and how important it is to spot these problems early.
MUDr. Pavel Hyšpler presented on minimally invasive transcrestal sinus lift procedures, including the use of PRF as the only material used to augment the sinus. He emphasised the benefits of modern approaches such as navigated flapless surgery, which makes things more predictable for patients and is gentler on them.
Dr. Matteo Antonini introduced the idea of comprehensive implant care. This is care that covers the whole process, from the surgery to the long-term maintenance. He said it is very important to check for changes to the body around the implant and to stop diseases that could cause problems for the implant over time. He said that up to 80% of implants show signs of mucosal inflammation, even when they look normal. He explained how SilverPlug® can be used to seal the access channel of the implant’s fixation screw to reduce bacterial load.
MUDr. Radoslav Lacina talked about the use of digital tools in planning treatment for implants. He used real examples to show how important it is to position implants right, not just for the bone, but also for how they look and how they fit with the teeth next to them. He also said when implant treatment might not be right for a patient.
MUDr. Martin Čelko shared his long-term experience with using autologous dentin to strengthen teeth. He explained the advantages of this biologically compatible material, which he has been using since 2018, and presented concrete results from his own clinical practice.
The event also featured an exhibition of partner companies. CURAPROX, BELdental, JUST DENT, and SILVERAID showcased their latest products and innovations in dental care.
The evening programme provided a relaxed conclusion to the day. There was a photo booth and live music from a group led by Dorota Tóthová and Marek Pospíšil, which created a pleasant atmosphere for informal conversations and professional networking.
Thank you to everyone who came.
We hope to see you again at future events!
