Dr. Volker Bonatz, MSc, MSc
One System for Many Different Requirements
Dr. Bonatz’s clinical experience with the LASAK implant system spans approximately 20 years. Through his presented cases, he highlights the extensive versatility of this modern implant type, which is suitable for both routine and challenging surgical scenarios. His presentation covers practical ergonomic tips for the streamlined surgical tray and provides a step-by-step guide through clinical procedures.
Dr. Bonatz emphasizes the clinical indications for ‘normal’ and “Plus”-BioniQ implants, sheds light on the biological context, and outlines prosthetic approaches for individual cases—including fixed crowns on implants and removable prosthetics.

Guided Surgery: From Pilot to Fully Guided Approach
The first part of this presentation will focus on guided surgery. He will examine the differences between pilot and fully guided surgery and explain their distinct features. Additionally, he will explore the limitations and technological requirements associated with digital workflow and potential collaboration with a technician.
In the second part of the presentation, he will present guided surgery cases across various prosthetic scenarios. These cases will range from straightforward and simple to full-arch reconstructions.
Lastly, he will reflect on implant loss and failures, considering the impact of different surgical approaches.
